Junbo Liu, Ph.D. | President, VanceInfo Technologies Inc.
Dr. Junbo Liu is the Chief Business Development Officer, in charge of the Global Sales & Marketing (GSM) organization and Software Service Group (SSG). Prior to his appointment as CBO, Dr. Liu was the head of the company’s R&D Services business unit. Before joining VanceInfo in 2005, he had served as Senior VP and other management positions at several IT companies. He was a member of the selection committee of the California NGI program in 2002, and obtained a U.S. Air Force software award for his outstanding work in building a high performance resource allocation system in 1999. Mr. Liu received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Bremen in Germany.
Walter Fang | President, Neusoft America
Mr. Walter Fang is responsible for Neusoft’s international outsourcing business development and marketing, strategic alliance and partnership management.
Mr. Fang has over 32 years of IT experiences working for large multinational IT companies in Asia and North America, including 27 years with IBM Canada, IBM U.S., and IBM Asia Pacific. He has helped many North America large organizations in government sector, financial, and telecommunication industries, developing IT architectures and network computing solutions.
Prior to joining Neusoft, Mr. Fang was CEO of Computer And Technologies Software Ltd. (C&T Software) from 2000 to 2002. He has managed this start-up company in China and grew its software business substantially during his tenure.
Mr. Fang is also Chairman of International Association of Outsourcing Professional (IAOP) Beijing Chapter. He is the author and creator of the Visual Modeling Technique (VMT) development methodology. He graduated from Cheng Kung University in Taiwan with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a Master of Science degree in computer science from National Taiwan University.
Robert P. Lee, Ph.D. | Executive Chairman, Achievo Corporation
Dr. Robert P. Lee, a 30-year veteran of the computer industry, is Executive Chairman of Achievo Corporation. Dr. Lee co-founded the company in 2002 and served as its CEO from 2002 through 2008.
Dr. Lee was president and CEO of Inxight Software, Inc. before joining Achievo. Prior to Inxight Software, he was chairman, president and CEO of Insignia Solutions plc, a software company he took public in 1995. Dr. Lee also served as executive vice president at Symantec Corporation where he led the acquisition and integration of many companies, including Norton Computing. He was senior vice president at Shared Medical Systems Corporation (now merged with Siemens), and earlier in his career held various technical and business management positions at IBM and Computer Sciences Corporation.
Dr. Lee is a member of the board of directors and advisor to several companies. In addition to being a director for Achievo and Accela, he is a director for Osel, Inc., a bio-pharmaceutical company. Dr. Lee was formerly chairman and president of Silicon Valley's Asia America MultiTechnology Association (AAMA) for multiple terms. Dr. Lee received a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and masters and doctorate degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, all in computer science.
Ed Yang | Chairman iSoftStone North America.
Mr. Edward Yang is the President of iSoftStone Inc. and the Chairman of iSoftStone North America & Europe Business Group. Edward Yang has extensive management capabilities, strong understanding of the client outsourcing value proposition, and experience in cross-border management of China-based business.
Before joining iSoftStone, Edward Yang was formerly the Chairman of the Cross Shore Acquisition Corporation, a public company listed under London AIM. He was the Co-founder of the company that raised US $112 Million in April 2006, to support the acquisition of a leading US-based provider of clinical outsourcing services, and led its strategic expansion into Asia.
From 1992 to 2000, Mr. Yang was Corporate Senior Vice President for Electronic Data Systems (“EDS”), responsible for its operations spanning the entire Asia-Pacific region. During his 8+ years with EDS, Mr. Yang brought outsourcing to the Asia-Pacific region and led the Company’s regional expansion from $100 million to more than $1.2 billion, with more than $4 billion in contracted revenue backlog.
Prior to joining EDS, Mr. Yang was Corporate Senior VP for Wang Laboratories, responsible for the Asia Pacific and Americas region, during which time he brought offshore R&D and manufacturing to Asia and established the Company’s first Mainland China Joint Venture partnership in Shanghai in 1980.
Born in China, brought up in Myanmar and educated in Taiwan and US, Mr. Yang earned his B.Sc. degree from National Taiwan University (1969), M.S. degree from University of Massachusetts (Lowell 1976) and his Presidential Executive MBA degree from Pepperdine University (1988). In 1997, he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Pepperdine University.
Jean Cholka | Chief Executive Office, Freeborders, Inc.
Ms. Jean Cholka joined Freeborders as CEO in April 2007 bringing over thirty years of executive leadership experience. Prior to joining Freeborders, Jean worked in executive level positions for Kanbay International, AT&T and Sears, Roebuck and Co. Especially notable is her seven years as an Executive with Kanbay, International, one of the top IT services consultancy companies in the USA with delivery centers in India, where she held positions including: President- North America; Chief People Officer; and Vice President-Global Client Relations. Under Jean's leadership, Kanbay achieved the distinction of one of the top IPO's for 2004 as well as one of the top 100 IT companies to work for.
In her current role, Jean leads Freeborders to engage the marketplace to optimize existing technology investments through strategic consulting coupled with leveraging IT services from China. To achieve this, Jean uses her extensive experience in the technology sector combined with her ability to attract top talent; create a high performance culture; sell innovative solutions, and deliver on an ambitious strategy. Jean's greatest strengths are her leadership skills, enthusiasm, commitment, and track record of building high performing teams. Equally important, Jean enjoys a challenge, particularly achieving growth within a company while helping people to achieve their potential.
These strengths are reflected in Jean's most recent corporate initiatives within Freeborders. Under her leadership, Freeborders has instilled the values of world class quality, customer focus, continuous improvement and teamwork resulting in tremendous expansion and client satisfaction. Jean obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Cardinal Stitch College and has been honored by the Chicago Business Ledger with the Influential Women in Business award. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and despite her demanding career as CEO, she makes time to be involved with several community organizations. When not working Jean likes to sail, golf and read.
Li Liang | Executive Vice President, Beyondsoft
Mr. Li Liang is Executive Vice President of Beyondsoft. He is responsible for the company's Microsoft business in Beijing, Shanghai and the United States, as well as new exploration and business development. A natural leader, Mr. Liang has amassed over the past decade the expertise to fulfill a personal goal – "To help build a world-class IT services company in China".
Mr. Liang cut his teeth as a software developer with the Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Within two years he had taken charge of his team at ICBC. His career path has also taken him to Singapore (Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi) and the United States (Broadreach Consulting, Firstrain Inc. and Microsoft Corporation).
Prior to joining Beyondsoft, Mr. Liang was the Lead Program Manager of China Outsourcing Initiative (COI), Microsoft. His contributions to the software giant were outstanding. He built the COI China Team from scratch, cultivating it into a highly respected, high performance team. Mr. Liang orchestrated and implemented MS China’s outsourcing strategy, and constructed the company’s national outsourcing operation platform. His efforts were rewarded in 2006, when the President of Microsoft China R&D Group handed Mr. Liang the "Gold Star" award. Through this work, Mr. Liang was deeply engaged with Microsoft, Chinese outsourcing players and the Chinese government.
Randy Lee | Senior VP of Strategy and Business Development, The Symbio Group
Mr. Randy Lee is the Senior VP of Strategy and Business Development of The Symbio Group (www.symbio-group.com), an outsourced product development leader for a converged world, delivering innovation and value across technologies and geographies with headquarters in USA, Finland, and Greater China.
Mr. Lee joined Symbio in May of 2009 and has been focused on growing the business and leading United States sales activity. Previously, Randy worked at Sparktech Corporation, a leading consumer electronics and mobile video sideloading and streaming company, serving as the General Manager where he led all aspects of the business. Prior to that, Randy was with Silicon Valley Bank where he assisted in the bank’s strategic planning efforts and underwrote some of SVB’s largest transactions in communication/electronics and life sciences. He was also the Director of Strategic Alliances at iAsiaWorks, a publicly traded web hosting company that built large scale, next generation data centers throughout Asia, and ChinaVest, a Greater China focused venture capital firm where he focused on the telecommunications and information technology sectors. Randy received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University and his MBA from the University of California, Davis, Graduate School of Management.
Jun Su, Senior Vice President, Head of US Business Unit, hisoft
As Senior Vice President for hiSoft Technology International, Jun leads the US business unit and is responsible for the overall business results, including sales, marketing and delivery.
For over 15 years, Jun has served in a wide range of roles in the technology field: from hardware and software research and development to application outsourcing; from profit and loss management to sales leadership of Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to joining hiSoft, Jun spent more than 13 years in Hewlett Packard. His latest role was the Senior Director of Sales with responsibility of HP software service sales management in Asia-Pacific & Japan from 2007 to 2009. During this time, he built up the sales team from 8 members to over 100 and grew revenue from USD 68 million to 160 million. Before that, Jun served as the BU Director in the global delivery china center of HP for 4 years, having started as one of the founders. He built up multiple offshore delivery centers from ground up to over 600 members, with clients across the US and Europe. His technical expertise focuses mainly in IT service, business intelligence, business technology optimization, software R&D, product localization and professional services.
Jun lived and worked in the US for 10 years before starting up the HP global delivery center in shanghai, China. He gained in-depth knowledge in hardware and software research and development from his US experience.
Michael Rehkopf | Partner, TPI North America
Mr. Michael Rehkopf, Partner and Director, North Asia, has more than 20 years of experience in operations, strategy and sourcing, working for Australian, Canadian, German and Japanese companies in business process and information technology (IT). Michael’s extensive industry experience includes the Financial Services, Manufacturing, Telecommunications and Travel sectors. He applies this diverse industry experience as well as his university background in accounting and IT to assist clients in the development of business strategies and the implementation of sourcing strategies, including the associated evaluation, negotiation and organizational change. During his tenure with TPI, Michael has completed a number of strategic assessments to help clients determine their most appropriate service delivery model and multi-year sourcing strategies. He has also assisted clients in numerous sourcing transactions and renegotiations, including several mega deals exceeding US$1 billion. Prior to joining TPI, Michael held leadership positions with Siemens Business Services, OpenPlus International, Mitsubishi Electric and Netron. Michael holds a Master of Dispute Resolution degree.
